Here’s what your donations funded this winter:

SkyDome Assembly
With your donations, our PTA Curriculum Committee coordinated bringing in MobileEd’s Skydome Planetarium Assembly to our kids! The portable, inflatable planetarium came right to our gymnasium and dazzled our budding astronomers with a tour of the solar system.

Nick Bruel Author Visit
PTA funding is bringing bestselling author and illustrator Nick Bruel to our school for three special grade specific presentations sharing the creative process behind his popular Bad Kitty series.

Cereal Boxes for our Cereal Domino Drive
The PTA purchased 50 cereal boxes to help power our Cereal Domino Drive & Run (watch the video here!). After the dominoes fell, every box was donated to families in need through The Daily Bread Pantry in Danbury—turning a fun schoolwide moment into meaningful support for our community.

Lunch From Home book
A copy of the book was purchased for each classroom to give all students a chance to take home and read with their families. This activity supports our commitment to being an inclusive school and connects to our work as a No Place for Hate community, where we celebrate differences and learn from one another 

Ronnie Appreciation Day snacks and decorations
Helped celebrate our School Security Officer, Mr. Ronnie with decorations and snacks to recognize all he does for our school community and show our gratitude for him always going above and beyond for students and staff alike.  

Healthy donations from LMNT and BoIron USA 
Through our PTA membership benefits, we were able to share LMNT electrolyte packets and Boiron ColdCalm samples with teachers to help support wellness as they headed into February break.

Invention Convention Dues
Because of the support of our school community, the PTA was able to cover the program dues for Invention Convention, giving Barlow students the opportunity to become real inventors. In this engaging after-school program, students identify real-world problems they care about, design creative solutions, and build their own prototypes—turning big ideas into exciting inventions.

Gala On Tap 
(Signage, Candy Bar,  Restaurant Rental, Canvas for Art Project, Misc Decor)
Thanks to the generosity of our school community, the PTA helped support Gala On Tap by covering key event details such as signage, the candy bar, restaurant space, a canvas for the collaborative art project, and other décor. These touches helped create a fun, welcoming evening for parents to connect, celebrate our school, and support the PTA’s work for Barlow students.

Family Bowling Day
During December break, Barlow families gathered at Spins Bowl for a fun-filled Family Bowling Night! Thanks to your support, families enjoyed an evening of strikes, snacks, and great time together building our Bobcat community.

24 Teacher Mini Grants (with more coming in!)
Teachers and staff received up to $250 each in reimbursement for classroom-related purchases — from supplies to materials that enhance learning. These funds empower teachers to create the best possible environment for their students right from the start of the year.

Barlow Angels Scholarship
Because of your continued kindness, we’re able to provide discreet scholarships to students whose families may need a little extra help covering the cost of school programs. These scholarships ensure every Bobcat can participate fully in the fun and learning that make BMES special.
