Kindergarten Bus Orientation
Friday, August 19th, 10am
Kindergarten students and parents will enter the cafeteria and learn about bus safety. Students will have a chance to go on a short bus ride with Ms. Laus and Mrs. Salvestrini, our Elementary Supervisor!
PowerSchool Portal Opens
Monday, August 22nd
Students’ teachers are listed in the portal; bus transportation information is also listed. Details about school operations (arrival/dismissal, ordering school lunch) are provided. Parents’ should update demographics, sign off on student handbook and other items.

It's only by creating an account that you can be included in the directory, class lists, and E-blast lists. All users must update their account information every year. Existing users, please sign in to your account and update your family information.
Teacher assignments will be available in late August. Once teachers are assigned, please access the Family Information Form and add your child's teacher. This is how your classroom volunteer coordinators will know which class your child is in. It is a very important step in setting you up to receive all communications for the year.
The BMES PTA is a partnership between parents and teachers who share a common goal to enrich student programs within the BMES community.
Membership in the BMES PTA is $25 per family and $10 for teachers.
Why join the BMES PTA?
- PTA Member Directory on both the website and through the mobile app. This is the only way to get contact information for other BMES families.
- Receiving weekly PTA E-blasts is one of the best ways to stay up to date about upcoming events.
- Subscribe to the calendar for BMES and RPS important events and dates
School Supply packs purchased in advance will be delivered directly to the classrooms. If you did not purchase a supply pack, the supply list is available above. Teachers may request additional supplies in their back to school welcome letters.
We love our volunteers and appreciate any amount of time you are able to give!
Interested in being a classroom volunteer coordinator for your child's class? Click the link below as soon as possible and sign up to show your interest. The teachers will be selecting these helpers early in the school year. This is a great way to be connected to the teacher and get informed early of classroom events.
In addition to the above opportunities, we are always looking to fill open positions on our PTA Board. If you're looking to get more involved or learn about these roles, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Getting involved in the PTA is a great way to connect with the Barlow Community and Administration.
Every parent can get involved, regardless of how much you know about BMES, and it makes a HUGE difference! Help make 2022-23 an awesome year for our children and our school.

The PTA is excited to bring back Wear It Wednesdays! On the 3rd Wednesday of every month, please have your Barlow Bobcat represent our amazing school community by wearing or using BMES Spirit Wear. Don't worry, if you don't have any specific BMES Spirit Wear, you can have your child wear Barlow colors (Blue and Red). Spirit Wear will be on sale during the year and we will announce the sale dates in the E-Blasts.
Below are the Wear It Wednesday dates to remember. They are also on our PTA Calendar. Upcoming events are always included in the weekly E-Blast, so be sure to check if it's a Wear It Wednesday week when reviewing the blast.
